The starter and development kit for the LCM display modules makes it much easier to start developing LCD applications. In addition, everything is included to not only start a display application, but to carry out a complete development.
Contents of the starter kits
We put together the right accessories for your project individually. The starter kits usually contain the following components:
- Your personally selected display module
- Starter kit manual
- Software
- “GUI‑Designer” software for Windows
- Source texts in ANSI-C as a starting point for your development on your hardware
- “LCM‑Toolbox” software for Windows
- “Font‑Generator” software for compiling the fonts
- Documentation in PDF format
- Adapter board for an LCM module with reset button, on/off switch and connections for voltage and communication
- Cable for connecting the LCM module to the hardware of your product
The LCM‑Toolbox
The LCM module is connected directly to a PC via the adapter board. The enclosed LCM‑Toolbox software then assumes the role of “controller”, while the LCM’s GUI‑Interpreter software assumes the role of “device” in communication exchanges. The prepared demonstration can be started directly.
This demonstration is available in source code and can be modified so that you can easily create your own display application. This means that application development can begin even before the hardware intended for the specific application is available.
The following functions can be carried out with the LCM‑Toolbox software of the starter kit:
- Load and run your own applications
- Load binary objects (e.g. images) into the flash of the LCM module in advance
- Define the startup behavior of the module (startup message, startup image)
- Simply create a slideshow for demonstration purposes
- Compile the images and binary objects for your application
- Update the LCM firmware
