Concept for employing LCD displays in embedded systems
Simplify Technologies offers a wide spectrum of products and services for industrial applications of graphical displays. This includes modules ready to be used as a user interface for an application, development services and our GUI function library for interfacing and easily accessing graphical displays. Simplify Technologies offers solutions tailored for small or large scales of production and supports you with a flexible concept as the number of units increases.
Our LCM user interface modules can easily be interfaced with existing devices or those to be developed and provide ergonomical graphical user interfaces.
Various options available for the modules of the LCM series allow to precisely fit the modules to the application. The LCM modules come complete with software, the "GUI Interpreter" which allows to send instructions to the module using a serial interface. Therefore there is no need to directly program the modules themselves. Programming a graphical user interface can be achieved by only using the graphical functions of the GUI Interpreter. All programming takes place on the hardware of your application with the tools and software environment you already are familiar with. The development of the user interface for the application therefore is significantly simplified and accelerated.
If you plan for a larger number of units, or if your project increases to a larger scale of production it might be of interest for you to use your own hardware. For creating graphical user interfaces for custom-specific hardware, Simplify Technologies provides the adequate tool with the "GUI library". The GUI library allows to integrate a display easily into your application, and to program it comfortably with a rich set of functions using ANSI-C.
We would like to emphesize the fact that the GUI library is compatible with the GUI Interpreter of our LCM modules, to a large extend. Because the GUI Interpeter is based on the GUI library an application can be easily migrated from using the GUI Interpreter on a LCM module (for small or mid-sized projects) to a GUI library application (e.g. for a project of mass production). Switching from a LCM module to a customer specific hardware platform therefore can anytime be realized very efficiently, as the application software already developed can be reused.
If you do not want to program the user interface by yourself, Simplify Technologies offers individual development services or adaptions on customer requests. These applications created for you are also based either on the GUI Interpreter or on the GUI library providing you with the choice of migrating at any time.
